5. Once you have a website and a theme, you need to create PAGES
- Go to the PAGES tab at the top of the page.
- You can RENAME PRE-MADE PAGES HERE, delete pre-made pages, or create new pages using the + sign . You need THREE PAGES: ABOUT ME, INSPIRATION, PORTFOLIO
- Once you have your 3 pages, go back to the top and click the BUILD tab- a bar will appear on the side that have widgets you can drag over to your sections. Select which page you want to work on. You can click and drag any of the widget on the lefthand side over to the section below the header of your page.
- If you want to edit the header on your page, you can change the image, title, etc.
- If you are using a PRE-MADE PAGE, please make sure to EDIT and CHANGE all titles and images. I do not want to see the prefilled latin paragraph!
- Your name as a TITLE
- An IMAGE that represents you
- A small TEXT box that talks about yourself. Things you can include are your hobbies and interests, things you care about, family, and extracurricular activities. I also would like to see information about your experience with art and what materials you enjoy working with.
- Include 5 images that you might want to draw, that interest or inspire you - they can be photographs or artwork. Try to stay away from quote/text images unless they are highly visual and do something very unique with the text.
- Here is where you will include your artwork and artist statement.
- Your artwork will always be shared with you as an album- check your email or your google classroom. Once you have found your image in the album, you will need to DOWNLOAD the image (not just put it on your cloud). In order to upload it to the site, drag over an IMAGE widget on the BUILD tab to your usable space on the portfolio page. Select UPLOAD FROM COMPUTER <FILE<DOWNLOADS and you should be able to find your recently downloaded image.
- Your ARTIST STATEMENT should be in a paragraph form next to or below your artwork. You should have a CREATIVE TITLE for your art piece. You will be expected to include
- CONCEPT- what was your subject matter, style, inspiration, etc.
- MEDIUM AND TECHNIQUE: what art materials did you use and what techniques did you demonstrate.
- SUCCESS: what do you feel you were the most successful on?
- IMPROVEMENTS: what can you do to improve the piece further, or what would you differently if you were to do it again?
- REMEMBER, your artist statement is worth 20% of your grade ( REFLECTION is a HUGE standard for art), so do well, double check grammar, spelling, and complete sentences. If you want the BEST grade on your artist statement, go above and beyond- go into depth in describing your piece and your concept. Use the flow chart below to do this:
